Stanhope · Old Hall
A bedroom at Stanhope Old Hall with a king bed, mullioned window and pale blue walls.

Rooms

Three bedrooms in a very old house. Prices change with the season, so tell us your dates and we will come back to you with availability and the rate.

Thick walls, deep windowsills, and the kind of quiet you only get at the top of a dale.

All three rooms are en-suite, with proper beds, tea and coffee, and enough hot water for the bath. Breakfast is cooked to order in the morning — not a buffet, not a heat lamp.

We are on the coast-to-coast route, so most of our guests arrive on two wheels. There is a locked outbuilding for bikes and somewhere to dry everything when the dale does what the dale does.

Guests staying the night can add dinner, and there is no better way to finish a day on the bike than someone else cooking. Sunday lunch and the chef's table both fill up well ahead — mention it in your enquiry and we will hold you a seat alongside the room.
